Lovely Shop Sign By Weinmann’s Woodworks

A good workshop sign is hard to find... but Scott over at Weinmann's Woodworks (Facebook link) has come up with a pretty impressive one!  He used our Pop's Tool Shop No.1  project and some great finishing to pull off this beauty!

"The sign is made from a live edge piece of cherry 38 inches long and 11-12 inches wide. Total machining time was about 6 hours. 1 3/8 flycutter to flatten both sides, 1/4 inch end mill to rough it, 1/4 ball nose to rough the 3d pieces, 1/8 ball nose to ensure good detail and then 1/8 end mill to clean up the lettering.

All of the colors comes from general finishes gel stain, java for the letters, gray for the metal tools and new pine for the handles. Then clear coated with water Bourne poly to limit how much the cherry will darken over time."

We have a feeling this sign will inspire a few Design and Make users to create their own personal shop sign!
