Looking for a fun and unique way to welcome visitors to your cottage, camp or home? \u00a0Sure most homeowners have a house sign that looks just like their neighbors,\u00a0or something pretty darn close. \u00a0For a functional, decoration that is the first thing a guest will see, you would think we would try for something that will set the mood.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

This finished version of James Patton's layout looks AMAZING!!!<\/p>\n

\"About 12\u201d x 10\u201d carved in 3\/4\u201d maple. I used a .125 ball nose with an 8% step over. 120ipm speed. <\/em>315 degree finishing angle. It took about 3 hours. After the <\/em>sanding, I stained the fur of the bear with a light walnut stain. The facial area a natural stain and the log edges I went with an ebony stain. ( Used all small craft brushes to apply the stain ) After a few coats of <\/em>krylon, I dry brushed a little <\/em>grey on the edge of the log to bring out the detail of the <\/em>bark. I dry brushed a brown nutmeg over the hair area\u2019s on the bear, then followed it up with a touch of black dry brushed sporadically. Painted the nose and eyes black and the tongue cardinal red. Then sprayed a few coats of Deft semi-gloss.\u00a0The font is Oklahoma set at .1 depth. All the paint was the .89 cent acrylic stuff from Hobby Lobby.<\/em>
